The Champlain Valley Quilters' Guild of New York was founded in 1984.
There are currently over 160 members.
Monthly meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month (September - June) at the Bailey Avenue School, 50 Bailey Ave., Plattsburgh, New York. Map of 50 Bailey Ave Plattsburgh, NY 12901-1445, US

Membership

$20.00 Annual membership fee (September - August). Payment can be made at the monthly meeting or sent to the Chair of the Membership Committee: Linda Maltzan, P.O. Box 455, Lewis, NY 12950. 
Checks should be made out to: Champlain Valley Quilters' Guild. 
Membership cards are distributed at the September meeting, if you are unable to attend and wish to receive your membership card, include a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope along with your payment.

Guild Activities

Monthly newsletter (Carolyn Tyndall) - all members receive the monthly newsletter (no newsletters in July and August).

Block of the Month (Sarah Elmendorf) - Block of the month projects are available for purchase at the guild meetings, instructions are in the newsletter.

Show and Tell - All members are encouraged to bring show and tell items to the guild meetings. 

Guild Library (Lisa Raino) - The guild library has a collection of over 400 quilting books and patterns available to guild members at the monthly meetings. Members can check out up to 3 books a month, 5 books during the summer break (July-Aug). All materials must be returned the following month. There is a $1 late fee for all overdue items.  

Challenge Project (Carole Meier) - Each year a new challenge project is offered to the guild. Projects are displayed and awards presented at the May meeting.

Brown Bag Challenge (Kitty Stygles) - For 2008-2009 in addition to the regular challenge the guild will offer the 'Brown Bag' challenge again this year.

Classes/Workshops (Kathy Russell) - A variety of classes and workshops are offered. Check the Calendar page for details on current and upcoming class. Evening classes are $8, full-day classes are $15. If you are interested in teaching a class or have ideas for a class or workshop you would like to see offered contact: Kathy Russell.

Community Outreach (Sandy Thornton) - The committee coordinates the collection of quilts and other items for distribution to a variety of groups, causes and service agencies including the Cancer Center, nursing homes, women's shelters, and international aid groups.
